With a legendary buzz of great food on Beatty Street, Danica’s has one of the tastiest menus I have ever eaten in the city.
Danica’s menu offers healthy European countryside cuisine along organically Baked pies, pastries and baked goods made from scratch and without the use of processed sugars.
The ambience is a cozy 40 seat café with slight touches of New York, Paris with warm historic Gastown themes. Danica’s coffee bar serves Elysian roasted espresso along with a diverse tea selection from around the world
The Story behind the Brand:
Danica’s is a passionate creation that began decades ago. Growing up on the farm they had the unique privilege of enjoying handmade, freshly baked goods and tasty foods made with ingredients that they’re picked straight from the family’s farm and gardens.
Back in the 70’s and 80’s when it was popular for local farmers to spray their fields with chemicals, Danica’s family chose not to use these dangerous pesticides. The philosophy was based on simple common sense: “A crop, which is continually contaminated with a cocktail of chemicals, doesn’t benefit customers or the environment”.
Grandmother Danica along with her daughters baked bread, cakes, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and pies that they’re made with 100% natural, organic ingredients using wheat and produce from their own farm. The taste was incredible as one could imagine.
From whipped (raw) coconut to their own 100% hand made dark chocolate – from European pancakes to Cabbage rolls – the food they serve is the food that everyone loves to eat. They make it fresh, healthy and they make it traditionally good.
